'Blavity' is a multi-cultural media platform that offers digital content that appeals to black millennials. Extensive studies have shown that African American millennials are the largest consumers of online content. They are not only the most mobile-obsessive, but they are also more active on social media than any other demographic.
Despite the significant number of black millennials consuming online content, dominant brands have largely failed to cater to this audience. 'Blavity' stands out as one of the few brands that is catering to black millennials. Founded by Morgan DeBaun and Aaron Samuels, the platform provides a mix of humor, critical commentary and valuable think pieces. Unlike other media platforms, Blavity provides a space for alternative voices to share their stories. As DeBaun explains, "Blavity's role is to connect our community with different perspectives and influencers."
With over 700,000 monthly viewers and more than 120,000 followers on social media, Blavity is quickly becoming the voice of black millennials.
