Artisan Licorice Candies

This Black Licorice Candy Includes Caramel, Molasses & a Hint of Salt

Black licorice candy itself has a taste that only appeals to some, but for those who can't get enough of it, the Jacobsen Salt Co. partnered up with Portland candymaker QUIN to develop a Salty Black Licorice treat.

This unusual candy was inspired by a trip to Europe, where salty flavors are often favored over sweet when it comes to confections and licorice in particular. This Salty Black Licorice sources salt from the coast of Oregon, plus a few other natural ingredients like molasses and anise. Although this Salty Black Licorice candy is probably an acquired taste for some, the Jacobsen Salt Co. claims that "Our friends tell us this is the only black licorice they’ll eat."
