TheBikeShieldApp Aims to Prevent Bike Collision Accidents

This mobile app allows for cyclist to car communication to avoid a bike collision on the road. From the TDG Company, TheBikeShieldApp alerts both drivers and bicycle riders when a bike or car is in one another's blind spot. It also works for motorcyclists, so everyone can work together and share the road despite the tensions that often arise between the three groups.

Using your smartphone, the app alerts users to the presence of others. If your mobile device is located in your sight line, it can notify you 5 to 10 seconds before a motorcycle, car or bike collision could happen. This lets you double check before completing or lane change, turn or similar manoeuvre.

Described as a "first layer crash avoidance technology mobile app," TheBikeShieldApp will hopefully save lives.
