Any follower of knows we write a lot of posts on sites and applications that let you become a star, but this one, revealed at CES 2008, tops the charts. Big Stage turns you into an actual animated 3-D avatar that resembles you from all angles. The technology is ridiculously mind-blowing, as seen in the video below.

"The Web is a big stage where people perform for each other," Jon Snoddy, the founder of Big Stage said. "You can watch yourself as a hero or anyone else you can think of."

All you have to do is take three photos of yourself from three different angles and upload them to the Big Stage program. From there, you can accessorize yourself or do things like add a hip new hairstyle before uploading yourself into the virtual realm -- like a video game or YouTube video -- in which your ideal self will interact. If you add a recording of your voice, your avatar will lip-sync with your speech.

"Big Stage is a media company whose breakthrough technology allows users to easily create and integrate a life-like 3D avatar of themselves into everything from famous movie scenes, TV shows and video games, to music videos, short video clips, virtual worlds, still images, user-generated content, instant messages, emails, social networks and more - instantly, " the Big Stage site explains.

Too bad we'll have to wait for its April launch to try it out!
