This urban bicycle-rental stand was one of the winners of the 2007 Spark Design & Architecture Awards. It's supposed to work like a U-Haul with one way trips to other stands. The bikes would be equipped with RFID chips to help keep track of them. So now, a pocket of change can score you a Snickers, a pop, or an undersized bicycle.
Implications - Renting a bike is a good way to get around the city if you want to save money on gas and not get stuck in traffic jams. The eco-friendly bike dispenser could have people out and about without their vehicles, saving the planet one small peddle at a time.
