The BENKT Bench and Blanket may seem typically minimalist to some, but upon closer inspection it becomes evident that they each sport quirky details that set them apart from other similar decor and furniture pieces. For instance, the cylindrical cushions of the seat, which happened to have greatly influenced the overall pattern of the coverlet, is quite unique. They stand out from the rest of the large, squarish pillows often used in such designs.
Created by Norwegian design studio günzler.polmar, the BENKT Bench and Blanket debuted at the 100% Norway exhibition at TENT London during London Design Festival 2012. The seat is a modern interpretation of the traditional Scandinavian kitchen bench and is made out of pine wood and wool. The blanket was manufactured by Røros Tweed.
