When a patient requires bed rotation every few hours, that can leave his or her caregiver in an unhealthy state as well. After all, waking up every three hours or so is not good for anyone. Yet the Flipod can change all of that. It is a pad that allows unsupervised bed rotations to take place.
Designed by Chow Wai Tung Eason and Hon Sui Ming Raymond, the Flipod is made up of two air bags, two magnets and a pump assembly. When used properly, it adjusts the patient through the simple action of pumped air. It does more than bed rotation as well. It also stimulates muscles through the use of pulsating bags, which is something that is hugely beneficial.
