Bamboo-Inspired Cultural Buildings

This Cultural Center Seamlessly Blends Into its Surroundings

MAD Architects have gone about showcasing the design for the 'Anji Culture and Art Center,' a vast new cultural building that makes use of design inspirations drawn from the iconically Chinese spectacle of bamboo leaves.

This particular cultural building, which is set to be situated in the Zhejiang province of China, will make use of extensive glazing that doesn't merely lend the structure a sleek exterior appearance, but more importantly helps to increase the infiltration of natural light in order to brighten up the interior and also reduce the reliance on electrically derived illumination.

Elsewhere, MAD Architects has taken a number of steps to ensure that this cultural building seamlessly blends in to its surrounding environment. "Multiple courtyards across the site function as programmatic gaps that dissolve the boundaries between indoor and outdoor space," MAD Architects noted.
