The Balenciaga Winter 2020 Show Takes Place on a Flooded Runway

The Balenciaga Winter 2020 show took place at Paris Fashion Week and it captivated attention at a global scale with its bold climate change theme. The luxury fashion label took an angle that explored menacing concepts for the cold seasons with adventurous new designs and updated signature silhouettes. Demna Gvasalia, the brand's creative director showcased designs on a flooded runway with LED graphics.

The theatrics created a sense that the ceiling was raining with fire and thunder. To make matters even more dramatic, the first three rows of the show were intentionally left empty to spotlight the menace of climate change. In terms of the seasonal fashion items, there is a strong sense of black shades and leather materials with silhouettes including boots, sneakers, heels, trousers, and oversized outerwear made with muted hides.
