Although you wouldn't usually think donuts and smoked salmon go together, something about these bagel and lox donuts work. Created by food blogger Molly Yeh from the site My Name is Yeh, these New York City-themed donut sandwiches put a pescatarian perspective on donut sandwiches and burgers.
Made with a "nice squishy baked vanilla donut that's been dipped in a sweet everything bagel topping," the lightly toasted bagel and lox concoctions also contain cream cheese (or cream cheese frosting if you prefer). You will also need lots of marzipan to create faux capers, salmon, red tomato slices, green lettuce leaves and purple onion. The deceptive treats, therefore, only look savory, but actually taste sweet. Perfect for weekend brunch, the donuts are made for those with a sweet tooth.
