High-Tech Bicyclist Backpacks

This Backpack for Tablets Enhances Communication On the Roads

This backpack for tablets is not only a convenient carrier, but also a communication tool on the road. The iBackpack allows tablets to face out, so that it can display messages commanded by the biker. The tablet’s camera will also act as a rear-view mirror that syncs to be displayed on the bicyclist’s smartphone. This multi-functional knapsack concept was designed by South Korean artist Soohun Jung.

The iBackpack would show anything from break signals and turn indicators to text messages like ‘Slow down’ or even feel-good phrases like "Have a nice day." In order to do so, the tablet would be synced with a special smartphone app. The biker would have control over the smartphone through a biker handle holder, sending signals to the tablet on the backpack.

Though reading text could get a little distracting on the road, the iBackpack attempts to enhance communication between drivers and bicyclists.
