SITKA and Scout Campers collaborated on a purpose-built mobile basecamp that applies technical hunting gear principles to a lightweight, off-grid camper. Limited to 10 units across the U.S. and Canada and priced at $55,000, the SITKA x Scout Camper features SITKA’s Optifade Open Country camouflage across its exterior and a heated gear locker inside.
The mudroom-inspired interior includes MOLLE panels for configurable storage, dedicated rifle and rod mounts, Richlite countertops, diesel heat, Garmin Power Switch integration, Baja Designs lighting and Starlink Mini prewiring. These elements help manage wet boots, layered clothing and activity-specific equipment rather than recreate a conventional RV interior.
For backcountry hunters, anglers and photographers, the design supports faster turnaround between outings and keeps gear functional across consecutive days. The camper reflects the emergence of mobile basecamps as integrated technical systems. Its 10-unit run also lets both brands test demand for premium, purpose-built shelter without committing to mass-market production.

Why This Trend Is Growing
- Technical Mobile Basecamps
- Integrated campers are evolving into activity-specific operating systems where storage, heating, power and connectivity are built around demanding outdoor workflows.
- Limited-run Outdoor Collaborations
- Scarcity-driven product drops give brands a low-risk way to test premium wilderness concepts while creating collectible appeal among specialized consumers.
- Gear-first Camper Interiors
- Mudroom-style layouts and modular mounting systems signal a shift away from comfort-first RV design toward vehicles optimized for equipment care and rapid redeployment.
Industries Being Reshaped
- Outdoor Recreation
- Premium backcountry shelters create room for hunting, fishing and photography brands to extend into infrastructure that supports multi-day field performance.
- Recreational Vehicles
- Lightweight off-grid platforms are redefining camper value through technical utility, compact systems integration and niche-use customization.
- Outdoor Technology
- Connected power controls, satellite internet prewiring and specialized lighting point to growing demand for rugged digital ecosystems in remote environments.
