Automated Restaurant Kiosks

CPK Serves Restaurant Meals Through Automated Retail Machines

Automated restaurant kiosks are extending established dining brands into locations where operating a traditional restaurant may be impractical. California Pizza Kitchen is partnering with T-ROC Global to deploy up to 1,000 automated retail machines nationwide over the next three years. Using TurboChef-powered cooking, touchscreen technology, and data-driven intelligence, the machines can prepare a CPK pizza in as little as 90 seconds. The kiosks will also offer select pasta dishes, Mac ‘N’ Cheese, and the brand’s signature Butter Cake across airports, universities, hospitals, hotels, offices, and other high-traffic destinations.

The model gives CPK a scalable distribution channel that can reach consumers without the footprint and staffing requirements of full-service restaurants. T-ROC’s warehousing, replenishment, maintenance, and logistics network can support rapid expansion, while clusters of machines across major markets could help CPK build density and capture more on-the-go dining occasions.
