Frontdoor's Streem Seamlessly Enables Remote Service

A new augmented reality communication platform is debuted by Frontdoor—"the nation's leading provider of home service plans." The service allows contractors and real estate agents to provide remote service during and, potentially, after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dubbed 'Streem,' the platform allows "the host and homeowner to connect remotely" in a secure one-way video or two-way audio session, assisted by spatial mapping, AR, and artificial intelligence. Through the augmented reality communication platform, homeowners can show agents their homes and receive staging advice and guidance. Streem provides on-screen mark-ups for a more organized experience. Agents can seamlessly collect digital assets through the platform and later use them to orchestrate virtual marketing experiences for prospective buyers—a great example would be a 360-degree tour of the property.

The augmented reality communication platform can also be used by contractors who can guide homeowners through a visual inspection of a malfunctioning item or another problem.
