Avoid Red Lights with the Audi Smart City System at CES 2014
Mesel Isaac — January 15, 2014 — Autos
The bane of any driver in a crowded city is the start and stop of constantly hitting red lights, but the Audi Smart City Traffic Light Assistance system hopes to correct all that.
Shown at CES 2014, the Audi Smart City Assistance system is displayed on your dashboard and works by gathering local traffic light information and other available data sources and sending it directly to your car over WiFi. In addition to the data collected, the Smart City system also uses your current speed to assess and let you know just how long you have until the next light up ahead will turn green.
The system is currently being tested in Europe and hopefully we won't have to wait too long until we see the Audi Smart City Traffic Light system rolled out.
