Audi Fit Driver is a new innovation introduced at CES 2016 that looks at driver wellness from a perspective of health. Car manufacturers put a great deal of money into safety features for drivers, but this system is set to be mindful of both physical and mental triggers.
The Audi Fit Driver system is more than just a wearable. However, with the use of apps and wearable devices, the system will be able to monitor conditions like driving style, breathing rate and environmental factors. With this data, the smart car system will be able to make adjustments to improve "driving fitness." By being able to acknowledge when a driver is tired, stressed or agitated, the car will be able to offer real-time solutions to what may harm a driver, passengers, or others sharing the road.
For now, this technology is only set to become available to Audi models in Germany.
