Las Vegas's little brother, Atlantic City, is getting a new addition to the family - MGM Grand Atlantic City. The multi-billion dollar hotel/casino will be the largest in town. The MGM will feature three hotel towers, 3,000 rooms and suites, major retail, convention center and resort amenities on a stunning piece of 72-acre property. Each tower will give guests a different hotel experience.
Implications - Artificial cities with gambling at their core are popping up across the globe from Dubai to Nassau and back to Atlantic City. The market for extravagant hotel casinos is only just beginning, and though no city may ever quite be sin city, businesses and franchisers are working hard to tap into this industry. Major hotel franchising, a growing variety of shows and large casinos are just the beginning for this incredibly fruitful industry.
