Smart Water Purifiers

ATHERIA Combines Modular Filtration with a Detachable Water Container

ATHERIA is a water purifier concept by Arnav Ashwin designed for modern Indian households. The countertop appliance combines water filtration, storage, and monitoring features within a compact form influenced by Japandi design principles.

A secondary 2.5-litre detachable container attaches to the main unit and automatically refills when returned to the purifier. The concept was developed to address common concerns surrounding water quality, maintenance, storage, and everyday usability. Multiple color options and a rounded exterior allow the purifier to function as a visible kitchen appliance rather than concealed equipment.

ATHERIA uses a three-stage filtration system consisting of a carbon filter, a dual-gradient polypropylene membrane, and a UV purification stage. The design incorporates self-replaceable filter cartridges that can be accessed through a side panel and removed without technician assistance. A companion app displays tap and output TDS readings, cartridge status, and water and energy consumption data.
