Asics is Retraining AI on What Healthy People Look Like

Asics prompted AI to "show images of someone who is healthy and exercises" and as a result, it got back images that were extreme to say the least, depicting people with virtually no body fat, 12 packs, big muscles and chiseled bodies. As a result, Asics set out to retrain AI to better represent the true face, and true nature of exercise, and prove that there's not one way to define what a healthy person looks like.

As artificial intelligence technology continues to be integrated into fashion, fitness and marketing, there's a pressing need to ensure that it is trained to be inclusive, especially when it comes to representing diverse body types and sizes, in order to promote a more positive and accurate portrayal of healthy bodies.

To contribute to Asics' efforts, social media users are invited to tag the brand and use the #TrainingAI tag.
