Immersive Auto-Focused Artistic Experiences

Lexus Explores the Relation Between Humans & Mobility

At Milan Design Week 2025, Lexus presented two groundbreaking installations that reimagined the relationship between humans and mobility technology through immersive artistic experiences. The automaker collaborated with Tokyo-based creative agency SIX Inc. and design studio STUDEO to create 'A-Un,' a large-scale interactive structure featuring a three-meter-tall Black Butterfly screen woven from 35km of bamboo fibers. This centerpiece responded to visitors' heartbeats using 1/f fluctuation patterns from nature, embodying the Japanese philosophy of harmonious synchronization between entities.

The second artistic experience by Lexus was dubbed 'Discover Together.' It showcased collaborative works from Bascule Inc., Northeastern University, and Lexus designers. Each piece interpreted the Black Butterfly concept through different technological lenses — from cosmic perspectives on human existence to real-time environmental data visualization.

The event also marked the relaunch of the Lexus Design Award as 'Discover Together,' signaling a renewed commitment to nurturing emerging design talent, with plans to debut the revamped competition at Milan Design Week 2026.
