The N1 chip is Apple’s first custom-designed wireless networking processor, introduced in the iPhone Air and to-be featured in Apple's upcoming iPhone 17. By bringing the chip manufacturing to in-house, apple is able to better control the specifics of its phone's construction, such as power demands and firmware. It integrates support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and the Thread mesh-networking standard into a single component.
