At the 2017 Worldwide Developers Conference, the Apple HomePod was unveiled as the newest smart speaker on the market.
In terms of form, the speaker stands just seven inches tall and boasts an outer covering of mesh. On the inside, Apple promises that the speaker will deliver high-fidelity sound with its own engineered audio technology.
Naturally, users will be able to easily access Apple Music, and effortlessly interact with Siri using either their voice or touch-based gestures. To show that Siri is listening, an LED waveform lights up on the top of the speaker, which reminds of the animation that many Apple users are already familiar with seeing when interacting with the smart digital assistant on their mobile devices. Outside of being able to execute a variety of tasks having to do with music and audio, the HomePod is also capable of interacting with a variety of other smart home accessories.
