Jan Kattein Architects Designs the Angel Yard in London

The team at Jan Kattein Architects created the Angel Yard, which is a community of affordable workspaces just along the Northern side of outer London. There are 36 spaces in total and it is made possible by joining a series of derelict garages. The project was commissioned by Enfield Council with the goal to transform a reported hotspot for crime and other anti-social behavior into somewhere that can support a young enterprise. The garages have new barrel roofs installed to increase the height.

Nesil Caliskan, the leader of Enfield Council notes that "Angel Yard will help Enfield's young entrepreneurs to build their businesses, gain new skills and to develop sustainable enterprises which in turn will help to support a dynamic local economy."
