Renowned as groundbreaking, Andy Warhol art has become a genre in and of itself over the years and now previously unseen and unreleased pieces are available to the public. As seen in the video by Life & Times, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts recently released Warhol’s entire archive and will auction off 350 paintings, photographs and prints.
The collection is housed at Christie’s in New York and features candid Polaroid photos of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lisa Minnelli, Diana Ross and more. The collection also includes a shooting range painting believed to be the only of its kind and previously unseen. Even commercial advertising pieces are included in the collection.
This collection stands as a testament to the variety and depth of Andy Warhol art that he produced before his death in 1987.
