The desire to quantify, qualify and generally "know" ourselves better persists with a new service titled 'Analyze Words.'
Analyze Words operates on the belief that social media, and how we interact with it, reveals something key about ourselves. It analyzes user's Twitter accounts based on the words they use, and then scores them on three categories: Emotional Style, Social Style and Thinking Style. The sub-categories within each category measure things like whether you're more upbeat or depressed, or how personable you are (in comparison to how arrogant/distant you might come across).
Though essentialist in nature (after all, a Tweet is only 140 characters to begin with), the service is pretty cool. At best, it's an introspective look at our social media behavior and personalities; at worst, it's a fun past time, much like reading our horoscope, that momentarily indulges our narcissism.
