Amwell is Introducing a Series of Tech Changes

American healthcare company Amwell, otherwise known as American Well, is set to introduce a series of tech improvements that will give patients more in-room entertainment options, while also enabling them to better communicate with healthcare professionals in a virtual setting.

With these improvements, the company will transform the equipment it already has in place, while also increasing its capacity for telemedicine services. These changes will also enable patients and their families to connect virtually—a need that's been greatly amplified throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant VP of Telehealth Services at Intermountain Healthcare Brian Wayling spoke to the improvements, stating "The in-room smart TV and networking enable clinical teams across more than 30 specialties to provide remote care 24/7 in collaboration with the local team, and to interact with patients, family members and caregivers right in the patient’s room—no matter the access concerns and without any extra effort."
