Amazon's cloud division, AWS has indicated that it will be opening a Middle East data center, which will be located in Bahrain. Amazon believes the expansion will help different companies in the region, much like it did when it opened data centers in other locations all across the world. The company sees its technology as having the potential to change the status quo through the cloud and big data technology.
It is not just Amazon's cloud division that is opening up an office in the Middle East, Microsoft has also announced it will open a data center in Abu Dhabi. The Middle East is becoming an expanding market for cloud infrastructure. Amazon also looks to expand into other locations including, Indonesia, Italy, and South Africa. '
