Nespresso Has Unveiled 80% Recycled Aluminum Coffee Capsules

The Nespresso 80% recycled aluminum coffee capsules has been unveiled by the brand as a new packaging that helps to give its products a more eco-friendly profile. The pods will be first used for its Original Line Master Origin Columbia coffee line and are intended to help the brand shift towards a more closed-loop business model by using recyclable materials. The launch comes on the heels of the brand's announcement of using 95% recycled material for its Nespresso machine boxes.

Head of Sustainability at Nespresso Jérôme Pérez spoke on the new 80% recycled aluminum coffee capsules saying, "We are constantly challenging ourselves to improve the sustainability and circularity of our operations, including the way we source, use, and recycle materials. Reaching 80% recycled aluminium in our capsules is a significant milestone, and something we have worked hard to achieve together with our suppliers.”
