Akamai Technologies Inc., a content delivery and cloud services company, has officially debuted a new solution for identifying hacking and phishing attempts. Before an attack campaign starts, Akamai Brand Protector inspects billions of digital actions daily from internal and external sources to find any brand violations. The solution protects organizations from income loss and increased risk by preventing the sale of counterfeit goods, phishing websites, and the unauthorized use of trademark aspects online.
With Brand Protector, companies can take advantage of Akamai's four-step approach for fraudulent impersonations. The four steps include intelligence, detection, visibility, and mitigation.
“Attackers are increasingly abusing trusted brand names to lure end-users through phishing and fake sites for the promise of financial gain,” Rupesh Chokshi said in a statement. “Detecting the rapid deployment of these attack campaigns and mitigating them can be a challenge for global brands.
