Agentic Commerce Feature Updates

Google Unveils Its AI Performance Insights and UCP Tools

Google introduced agentic commerce updates for retailers, including AI performance insights, Business Agent for YouTube ads and expanded Universal Commerce Protocol capabilities. The tools are designed to improve visibility in conversational AI, embed product assistance within video ads and support checkout, while conversational attributes and loyalty data add context to product listings.

AI performance insights are available in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the U.S., showing brand share of voice across AI Mode and AI Overviews. Business Agent is in beta for eligible U.S. retailers, while the UCP hub is adding cart transfer and checkout testing in the U.S., followed by Australia and Canada early next year. The updates reflect a shift from keyword-based discovery toward conversational research and embedded commerce. For Google, they extend its role across the retail funnel, from visibility to checkout.

Retailers gain more connected conversion tools; Google says merchants adopting core feed practices average a 5% conversion increase the following month.
