Adriana Degreas Brings '20s Style to the Beach

If you're anxiously awaiting the release of The Great Gatsby, Adriana Degreas' latest collection of poolside attire should be enough to tide you over.

The Brazilian designer showcased her Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, referencing silhouettes, shapes and swim caps from the 1920s. The luxury lounge and beachwear looks use simple lines and geometry to mimic styles of the Art Deco period. Many of the silhouettes feature prominent triangular motifs to give the collection that flapper vibe.

The collection's use of colour is equally strong and striking as its shapes, consisting mostly of blacks, whites and head-to-toe looks in monochromatic peachy pink or vibrant red-orange. Degreas has modernized her swimwear collection with cutouts and tropical tree shapes to reveal skin that would have been scandalous to show in the '20s.
