It's hard to believe that Australian photographer David Uzochukwu is only 15-years-young after looking at his powerful adolescent portraits.
Each photograph is so capable and compelling, it has the ability to transport you back to your own adolescence. Most of us never really forget what it means to be fifteen, hard as we might try. These slightly unsettling images portray a time of loneliness, isolation, awkwardness and anxiety that we can all relate to. Whether it's a shot of flowing tears, a curled-up body or hands held in silent prayer, each image conveys a universal truth. It is this universality that first intrigued Uzochukwu to photography.
