The adidas Terrex HS1 hoodie for hikers is made with Spinnova fibers, a minimum of 25% of which come from wood-based fibers. Organic cotton also forms the base for this comfortable and sustainable hoodie, which represents the sportswear giant's commitment to more environmentally friendly products. By 2025, adidas is working towards achieving every nine out of 10 pieces with more sustainable technology, material, design and manufacturing methods.
The garment shows off a natural color that is untouched by dyes and bleaches, which also plays a part in reducing the impact of the garment as compared to the standard dyeing process. The unisex mid-layer design was made possible in partnership with Spinnova, the Finnish textile material company and its mission to "transform the raw material base of the global textile industry by providing radically sustainable and high-performance textile materials."
