Active Ceramic is the first company to create anti-pollution and antibacterial tiles. The ceramic tiles are self-cleaning and turn environmental pollutants into mineral salts. This product can be used indoors and outdoors to purify the surrounding area.
The concept was created by Dr. Romana Minozzi and his team in Italy. They collaborated with researchers and scientists to build a tile that was not only visually aesthetic, but also improved the quality of human life. Active Ceramic was the result of this endeavor.
The titanium dioxide-coated tiles use the process of photocatalysis to decompose organic and inorganic pollutants in the atmosphere. This does away with not just air pollutant molecules like mono-nitrogen oxide and volatile organic compounds, but everyday grease, dirt, odors and bacteria as well.
