Fisher & Paykel's Campus Combines Research and Sustainability

Carbon-positive corporate campuses are combining workplace development with environmental performance as Fisher & Paykel establishes its new global headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand. The purpose-built campus integrates research, industrial design, engineering, digital development and advanced appliance testing, bringing around 800 employees together in one location. Its centerpiece is an 11,500-square-meter mass timber building that stores more carbon than was emitted through its material production and construction. The site also incorporates 1,159 solar panels expected to generate 732 MWh annually.

For Fisher & Paykel, centralizing specialized teams and testing capabilities could accelerate product development and strengthen collaboration across its global operations. The campus also serves as a demonstration of the company’s renewable energy and connected home capabilities. More broadly, the project shows how corporate facilities can function as both operational headquarters and showcases for sustainable technologies, potentially strengthening brand positioning and attracting specialized talent.
