8BitDo has released a new firmware update for several of its wireless controllers that adds compatibility with iPhones, iPads, Apple TV hardware, and Mac computers that are running their latest software versions. The update means that six of 8BitDo’s wireless controllers will be compatible with Apple devices running iOS 16.3+, iPadOS 16.3+, tvOS 16.3+, and macOS 13.2. The controllers that are now compatible with Apple devices include the 8BitDo SN30 Pro, SN30 Pro for Android, SN30 Pro+, Pro 2, Ultimate 2.4G and Lite SE.
8BitDo’s wireless controllers and gamepads, including the highly customizable 8BitDo Pro 2, are popular for their ability to be used on multiple devices, from computers to gaming consoles. However, one piece of customer feedback that 8BitDo consistently received was the lack of support for Apple devices. But as of this week, that’s no longer the case. The new firmware update means that 8BitDo’s controllers are now officially supported by Apple, allowing you to use them with your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
