79 & Park is the name of a new residential development being constructed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and located right at the edge of the Gardet national park near the Swedish capital Stockholm.

Designing a building for this kind of location poses some very particular challenges. Since architects are bothered with the necessity to design buildings to be visually sympathetic to their surroundings, this is something that had to be taken into consideration while designing an apartment complex near a national park. But BIG have risen to the challenge admirably, using carefully placed greenery and a smart, pixelated design to enable the building to blend seamlessly into the area.

79 & Park uses a glass and cedar wood design to create a boundary between itself and the national park. This enables it to cater to residents' every accommodation need while still respecting the already existing visual aesthetic.
