The 2014 Velux Lovers of Light competition embrace the beauty of natural light, from the rays of sunlight bursting through clouds to the dramatic shadows cast along a forest floor and even rainbows shooting across the sky. Almost nothing is off limits when it comes to such illuminated scenes. Yet there is more to the competition than simply capturing a picturesque landscape.
When judging the 2014 Velux Lovers of Light competition, Tom Dyckhoff, writer, broadcaster and member of the judging panel, said, "As well as considering the composition and technical ability of each photograph, we also looked for emotion and feeling in each of the entries. We wanted to choose entrants who we felt had truly embraced and been inspired by natural light.”
