Right away, the Eco-Life 1/2 Lift would not not satisfy accessibility standards for the built environment; however, for the ambulatory user, this concept is quite a clever one. Dengjun proposes an environmentally friendly adaptation to the modern elevator, suggesting that it should stop every second floor for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it would do most people good to climb at least one flight of stairs now and then. Anyone who lives or works on the 6th floor, for instance, would need to get off at the 5th and proceed up a single staircase. The primary purpose of the 1/2 Lift, however, is to reduce the energy required to operate it. As a bonus, the modern control panel displays weather information digitally, for the rider's interest.
