From Friend Circles to Search Plus

 - Apr 30, 2012
There are plenty of ways Google+ wins. The comparatively newer kid on the social network block, Google+ may have a fraction of the number of users Facebook has, but it is growing to become a force to be reckoned with.

Easy to use privacy settings, video chat "Hangouts," friend "Circles" and the ability to Photoshop your profile picture within the network are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to defining features of Google+. With Google's release of Search Plus, which integrates personal results into Google's search results, they have done something that only Google has the capability of doing (sorry Zuckerberg).

What's more, it's evident that being on Google+ has a positive impact when it comes to search results on Google. And as anyone who hasn't been living under a rock knows, search results on Google have a big impact on business.

Google has had several flops in its time (remember Google Buzz?), yet the company has had many wide-spanning successes such as Chrome, Google Maps, acquiring YouTube and of course, good old Google search. This company is a living and breathing example of what a culture of innovation can do to create a monolithic brand.
