Another Country Launches the Work Series II Table

British furniture imprint Another Country introduces the new Work Series II table that is made with a sustainable process for office environments. It has a frame that is made from eucalyptus wood with a table surface insert that is entirely constructed from recycled yogurt pots from Welsh manufacturer Smile Plastics. The look of table resembles a terrazzo look with flecks that are drawn from the foil lids creating a metallic reflective touch along the surface.

Founder of the brand Paul de Zwart tells Dezeen that "We champion natural materials but that doesn't mean that there aren't other solutions that are equally valid, maybe sometimes better. You can't really recycle timber," he added. "You can obviously reuse it but if you burn it or dispose of it, you release the carbon that's embedded. The workplace has a high turnover of furniture. So inevitably, while we may design for things to last, in an office environment they are unlikely to do so. The amount of office furniture that gets thrown out annually is shocking."
