Vässla Launched the 'Pedal' Futuristic E-Bike with Smart Features

Vässla, a Swedish electric bicycle (e-bike) startup, debuted its 'Vässla Pedal' e-bike just in time for World Car Free Day. World Car Free Day, which takes place on September 22nd, is a day to celebrate sustainable mobility options, such as walking, biking, and scootering. This is intended to increase attractiveness of these forms of mobility while reducing the overall emissions produced by passenger vehicles.

The Vässla Pedal is the company's answer to micro-mobility. It features a simplistic, futuristic design with a single bulky bar in the center of the step-over frame. This bar hides the engine, battery, and sensors for the bike's smart features. The Pedal features a 250w motor and a removable battery with an unconfirmed capacity, but Vässla stated the bike achieves roughly 100km on a single charge with a top-speed of 32kmph.

Vässla stated that it's primary mission is "for every day to be a car free day." The Pedal is available now for preorder at an MSRP of €2,990.
