The Umami collection brings depth and harmony to alabaster lighting through a series of sculptural luminaires designed by Alain Ellouz in collaboration with interior architect Ana Moussinet. The collection includes six pieces, comprising three floor lamps and three wall sconces, each conceived to highlight alabaster’s translucency and natural veining when illuminated. Forms are restrained and architectural, allowing light diffusion and material texture to define the visual character rather than surface decoration.
Each piece in the Umami collection is crafted using alabaster reinforced with Ellouz’s patented Stonelight process, which strengthens the stone while preserving its ability to emit a soft, even glow. The lighting elements are named after natural phenomena and are intended to evoke balance, warmth, and calm within interior environments. Integrated LED sources are calibrated to enhance the stone’s tonal depth and ensure consistent illumination.
