The 'UrbanGlide' Bikes Are Designed to Breeze Through City Streets

Vanpowers, the California-based manufacturer of high-quality electric bikes, has launched a wonderful new urban commuter e-bike that is well and truly designed to maneuver through the challenges of the urban transportation environment.

The 'UrbanGlide' commuter e-bikes are available in three different versions, with the top-of-the-line 'Ultra' model equipped with a 500-watt motor that is capable of producing pedal-assist of up to 32 km/h across five power modes, whilst its torque sensor promotes responsive assistance. Meanwhile, the mid-range 'Pro' model features a mid-drive motor and an eight-speed derailleur rather than a nine-speed. Finally, the inexpensive 'Standard' urban e-bike features a speed sensor in lieu of a torque sensor.

No matter the model, these commuter e-bikes are well and truly designed to handle city commuting. "Every component – from the hydraulic brakes, powerful motor, the suspension fork, the ultra-comfortable suspension seatpost and saddle, the long-range battery, etc – was carefully considered. We are proud to have created a safe, reliable, cutting-edge ebike that city dwellers will prefer to their cars," said Darik Duan, chief of research and development at Vanpowers.
