Taco Bell is expanding Live Más Café with four horchata drinks for fans who want frozen, coffee and iced options built around one flavor. The October 15 café menu includes a Purple Horchata Chiller and a Chocolate Horchata Cold Brew Float across three formats.
The Strawberry Horchata Refresca and Vanilla Spiced Horchata Refresca reach Taco Bell restaurants nationwide on December 10, joined by a Vanilla Spiced Horchata Freeze for a limited run. Live Más Café is also adding a shipping-container Las Vegas Strip flagship with Vegas-only drinks, entering greater Indianapolis with three locations and growing in Southern California. About 1.3 million beverages sold so far across 39 cafés make the concept a working test bed for Taco Bell's drink business. Breakfast and afternoon traffic widen beverage occasions beyond meal visits and support the chain's $5 billion target for 2030.

What's Driving This Trend
- Multi-format Beverage Platforms
- Single flavor systems spanning frozen, iced, coffee and refresher formats create scalable menu architecture for testing demand across dayparts and customer preferences.
- Café-style QSR Expansion
- Fast-service restaurants are blending specialty beverage cues with familiar drive-thru convenience, widening competitive pressure on coffee chains and snack-focused retailers.
- Localized Flagship Menus
- Market-specific drinks and experiential flagship locations turn regional launches into brand laboratories for premium limited-time offerings and social discovery.
Who This Affects Most
- Quick-service Restaurants
- Beverage-led concepts give restaurant chains new ways to increase visit frequency beyond core meal occasions and strengthen margins through repeatable drink formats.
- Specialty Coffee
- Coffee operators face growing crossover competition as mainstream food brands add cold brew, floats and flavored café beverages at accessible price points.
- Foodservice Real Estate
- Compact formats such as shipping-container cafés support flexible site strategies in high-traffic entertainment districts, suburban markets and expansion test zones.
