The Jolly Hog Proper Posh Bacon Comes in Two SKUs

The Jolly Hog Proper Posh bacon has been debuted as a series of artisan-style meat products perfect for helping consumers to craft premium recipes from the comfort of home. The products feature a restaurant-quality bacon profile that's thickly sliced and ideal for crafting premium brunch or lunch meals from the average kitchen. The bacon range features two SKUs including the Streaky Bacon and the Back Bacon, which are each dry-cured using the brand's signature Black Treacle to achieve a rich, sweet and smoky flavor that will get better upon being cooked.

Co-Founder Olly Kohn commented on The Jolly Hog Proper Posh bacon range saying, "Bacon has always been a staple, but we felt it was time to give it the attention it deserves. Brunch has become a real weekend ritual for a lot of people, and if you’re building a great plate, the bacon should be the star – not hidden between slices of bread. That’s why the extra thick cut of our ‘Proper Posh’ range makes all the difference. It’s meatier, even more satisfying and feels like something you’d expect in a top-notch restaurant, but all from the comfort of your own home."

  2. Thick-cut Premium Meatization — A shift toward thicker slices and pronounced textures is redefining perceived value in cured meats, favoring products that deliver a more sensory, meaty experience.
  3. Brunch-as-experience — The elevation of weekend dining rituals into experiential moments is turning single ingredients like bacon into focal points that enhance at-home culinary theatrics.

Industry Implications

  1. Retail Grocery — Shelf strategies are being reshaped by premium SKUs that command higher price points and attract shoppers seeking artisanal, restaurant-quality ingredients.
  2. Foodservice & Restaurants — Operators are influenced by consumer expectations for bolder, thick-cut proteins that can differentiate menu offerings and justify premium menu pricing.
