These new Starbucks Japan matcha drinks have been debuted by the brand as a series of refreshments for its Starbucks Tea & Cafe specialty shops that put matcha green tea in the spotlight for customers to try out.
The drinks come in two varieties including the Matcha Green Tea Sparkling and the Matcha Pistachio Mousse Tea Latte, which both take distinctly different approaches to matcha preparation. The Matcha Green Tea Sparkling pairs matcha with tonic water along with a lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear and herb syrup. The Matcha Pistachio Mousse Tea Latte takes a creamy approach with an iced matcha latte paired with a creamy pistachio foam in the base and on top.
The new Starbucks Japan matcha drinks will be on offer from June 11 through September 2, 2025.
