The RE-UP Side Table by TAKEHOMEDESIGN transforms post-industrial and post-consumer plastic waste into contemporary furniture for residential and commercial interiors. The collection uses moulded polycarbonate from industrial sources alongside recycled polypropylene recovered from food packaging and delivery containers to create sculptural table bases. Rather than concealing the recycled material, the designs highlight its unique textures and translucent qualities, giving each piece a distinct appearance while demonstrating the potential of reclaimed plastics.
The collection pairs the recycled bases with tabletop options including rubberwood, recycled UHT milk carton panels, tempered glass and marble. Some models incorporate internal illumination that emphasizes the layered texture of the recycled polypropylene, while coffee grounds are used to create a mocha-toned finish on selected designs. Winner of the BIG SEE Product Design Award 2026, the RE-UP collection also extends to coffee tables and pendant lighting.
