Daniel Arsham's Relics in the Landscape Installed in Yorkshire

Daniel Arsham installs six large bronze sculptures entitled the Relics in the Landscape on the grounds of Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Located in the North of England, the works are surrounded by greenery in a space that has been inhabited for centuries.

This marks the first museum show of Arsham's in the United Kingdom and each one is shown outdoors in the Formal Garden. It ranges from a Bronze Extraterrestrial Bicycle to the tall Bronze Eroded Venus of Aries that measures out to be three meters tall. Arsham often looks to his own childhood experiences for inspiration -- he survived Hurricane Andrew in 1992 when his family home was destroyed. He channels this through decayed forms and textures in his artwork.
