Naturehumaine Designs the Palissane Home in Quebec by the Water

Architecture firm Naturehumaine has designed the Palissane home right on the water with used brick facades to create minimal openings. It shelters the home from the louder roads just next to it in Quebec, Canada. The site is a focus when it comes to the design process as it is steep and narrow. The team wanted to limit the noise and also optimize the views simultaneously.

The studio explained the design to Dezeen, "Working with an extremely narrow lot that is near the access road, the intention was to treat the street facade as a palisade to protect its occupants from the potential views and noises. On the contrary the lake facade was designed in transparency with generous sliding doors and glass panes to maximize views over the water."
